This is pretty simlpe actually when we burn fossil fuels, we release carbon that’s been trapped for millions of years. If we release more of this carbon than the natural carbon cycle can absorb, it accumulates in the atmosphere. Since CO2 is a greenhouse gas, the more of it is in the atmosphere, the more heat it traps’, and thus the more it warms the planet. And as the planet warms, its climate changes.
