Project Management – Climate + Behaviour Change & Flood Prevention
Key to successful Climate related Project Management is enthusiasm and lasting energy to enthuse others in a variety of ways, to suit everyone’s approach.
For example, Climate Vision’s Leaf Litter Flood Prevention Pilot Project was recognised as one solution to flooding. Key factors for finding innovative solutions were; economic cuts, reduced services and higher frequency of rainfall events. The initial Pilot Project took place over nine months in one town in Cornwall, to test flood prevention and landscape response while recording the value of turning the problem (leaf litter) into a resource (compost). This was in the hands of those open to inspiration, who had to work without pay, contributing towards a sustainable solution. In this case, saving the tax payer huge costs in flood clean up and inspired and valued community payback offenders not re-offending (estimated around £100k per person).

By ensuring stakeholders have ownership, and the aims and objectives of the project are clear and the scope feasible, Climate Vision enjoys demonstrating the outcomes with the wider public, particularly in this time of deep change.
