Shaping Climate Vision CIC
Book a climate talk or walk with Luci Isaacson BEM MSc FRGS to enjoy experiences to be able to adapt to climate change, mitigate for it and become more resilient in your group, with friends, family or colleagues or at school.
Thanks to Cornwall Community Foundation the Duke of Cornwall Marine Environment Fund have funded 3 Climate Walks and Talks. You can read the publication here: Shaping Climate Vision CIC Publication for CCF

As an expert in how the changing climate will impact people, homes and businesses, having studied Earth Systems Science and Climate Change and Risk Management, sitting with Cornwall Community Flood Forum (former Chair for two terms), Cornwall Catchment Partnership, the former Cornwall Councils Strategic Resilience Board & the South West Regional Flood & Coastal Committee, she understands her colleagues problems and the difficulty in getting people climate ready, and has found enjoyable and refreshing solutions for all.
TALKS usually run for a 20-minute talk, with a break for questions, but mostly an opportunity to share thoughts and views to possibly discuss further. A final 10 minutes will allow people to have a take home message and action plan. Timings are completely flexible; this is an example of what works well.
WALKS usually cater for all, although we are planning one fairly tough one this summer in a jungle!
Importantly, there is something for everyone, not everyone wants to look at graphs and hear science, there are always a few treats in store too, stories from the past and new ones made with you – that help pave the way in the future.

- “Absolutely fascinating walk/talk. Informative, interesting & wow factor. Just enough of a walk to feel like we’d had a walk but short and flat enough to be inclusive to all ages and abilities.”

Background
Climate Vision Ltd are often asked to provide climate talks in Cornwall for groups who do not have a budget for our costs (such as travel and printing) or our time, which sometimes can fill a day. We also spend time trying to effect policy change by providing examples and activities to demonstrate sustainable solutions related to flooding and adapting to wild weather. This can be incredibly time-consuming and would benefit from some financial support for costs.
Climate Vision is naturally a Social Enterprise, but it was time to make it official. In the heavy drought year of 2022, a group of us set up Shaping Climate Vision, a new Community Interest Company (CIC), to seek funding to fill the gap Climate Vision has been facilitating for over a decade.
The CIC received funding from The National Lottery to provide 12 climate talks across Cornwall over 12 months. Just as Climate Vision delivers talks largely to businesses, Shaping Climate Vision CIC has helped communities and individuals understand a little more about climate change and what we can all do to protect ourselves and play our part, however small, in reducing it.
If you are concerned about climate change and unsure where to start with such an enormous task, these talks are ideal for you.
Our sessions are friendly and will give you easily digestible information to get you well-positioned to make a difference. There’s coffee and chat afterwards and, importantly, we’ll leave you with an incredibly valuable and tool (that is widely used over Cornwall already), so you can carry on the good work at home – even if you live on top of a hill.
Booking Your Talk
Shaping Climate Vision CIC offers the same talks as Climate Vision Ltd, but funded so we can take the message to individuals and communities who might not have a budget, as well as businesses. We have had National Lottery funding for 12 of our talks, and we now have funding for three Climate Walks & Talks, thanks to the Duke of Cornwall Marine Environment Fund.
